“Sync-N-Link requires a bit more in terms of specific gear on the production side, but its benefits can be massive.
I'm working on a scripted show. Shot on RED. This year we moved our audio to a SoundDevices 744T, which feeds timecode into the camera. The audio recordist inputs episode/scene/shot/take info into the recorder, along with audio track names for characters.
Last year without Sync-N-Link it would take me about a day to sync and log a weeks worth of shooting. This year the exact same job takes me (no exaggeration) about 1 minute. PLUS, the audio track info is converted into audio component names AND Roles tags.
